Teknotherm is taking part in a new research, project directed by research- and development company Møreforsking AS. Together with Havfisk AS, Primex Norway AS, Myre Fiskemottak AS and ABS AS, we are investigating in how freezing of white fish in cold brine will improve the quality of the fish.
The goal for the research project is to find optimal process conditions for brine-freezing of white fish, and at the same time be able to document the effects of the method.
Cod, haddock and pollock are the three most important fish species for the Norwegian fishing industry, and these species will be used in the testing program.
Teknotherm’s contribution to this project is designing and delivering a brine cooler-unit, together with our expertise and knowledge of freezing of catch in general.
The unit was installed and started-up at Myre Fiskemottak in middle of March, where we were present during the whole testing period.
The results from the testing will now be processed and studied further, and we look forward to to come up with the final results and conclusions.
