Modern ventilation systems address these challenges in several ways. An efficient enthalpy exchanger in the air handling unit recovers most of the humidity from the exhaust air in accommodation areas.

However, in cold conditions, this alone is not sufficient. To compensate, steam humidifiers with dedicated steam generators are installed in the supply air, ensuring that humidity levels remain within optimized limits.
