Humidifiers

In cold weather, the indoor air on seagoing vessels can become dry, leading to reduced passenger comfort and performance. Maintaining optimal relative humidity helps strengthen the human immune system and limits the spread of pathogens. Modern ventilation systems address these challenges in several ways. An efficient enthalpy exchanger in the air handling unit recovers most of the humidity from the exhaust air in accommodation areas. However, in cold conditions, this alone is not sufficient. To compensate, steam humidifiers with dedicated steam generators are installed in the supply air, ensuring that humidity levels remain within optimized limits. The choice of humidifiers is also made with respect not only to enhance comfort but also reduce the airborne spread of pathogens, creating a safer environment.
