Dolwin 6

Summary

Short description

Dolwin 6 is a 900 MW capacity Offshore HVDC(High Voltage Direct Current) converter platform, located in the German North Sea.

The platform converts alternating current generated by offshore wind farms into direct current, which is transmitted to the mainland via an approximately 45-kilometre-long subsea cable. From there, the electricity is transmitted to Emden/Has where a converter station and a transformer station convert the direct current back into alternating current and feeds it into the high-voltage grid on land.

Teknotherm was responsible for the HVAC basic design, detail design and equipment equipment delivery . Our systems support safe, reliable, and energy efficient operation of the converter station in demanding offshore conditions.
