Ship-aH2OY

Summary

Short description

In Ship-aH2oy, 1 MW power unit consisting of hydrogen fuel cells, LOHC release unit and auxiliary systems shall be installed and demonstrated onboard a commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV). This shall be the first large-scale maritime demonstration of LOHC.

Teknotherms key role in Ship-aH2oy: Integration and heat/cooling management of LOHC/FC system waste heat into the vessel system (calculation and design).

More information

Alternative on-board heat and power integration concepts are analyzed, compared and optimized over their performance for the actual trading pattern of the vessel made to address the particular challenges of the concept development. The variant machinery system configurations will include the PEMFC power plant and SOFC option, existing on-board systems, and off-the-shelf technology options for waste heat recovery, like ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle), absorption cooling and steam turbine where possible. The task is to target to increase the ship overall co-generation efficiency. This task is connected to the results of the FC development and integration where alternative heat management solutions will be assessed for FC power plants in a ROPAX vessel.
