The overall goal for the Troll West Electrification project (TWEL) is to significantly reduce the CO2 emissions from Troll B (TRB)and Troll C (TRC) by using electrical power from shore (Kollsnes) to replace power from the existing gas turbines at the platforms. The processing systems and other energy-intensive systems on both platforms will now be driven by electricity, except for the large export compressors
One of the main challenges was to meet a tight delivery schedule due to the limited heavy lift campaigns Offshore. Teknotherm were responsible for the design and delivery of the necessary HVAC equipment for the new modules on Troll B and Troll C.
